Let’s dough this!! 🙌🏾
Puffed, deep fried delicious bread. This is recipe is amazing, a bit like a Scottish deep fried Mars bar- you just simply need to try it!! 🤷♀️
I’ve been asked for this recipe a few times, as it’s served as Punjabi brunch with chick pea curry/Chole (see previous post and reel for recipe) it’s my mums recipe so you know it’s going to be guaranteed winner! ⭐️
So moorish, tasty!
-4 cups of self raising flour
-4 tbsp of plain/ any yogurt.
-1 tsp of: salt, sugar, carom seeds.
-2 tsp of oil (sunflower or vegetable)
-Water for the dough.
-Oil to deep fry.
-I used a stand mixer, or you can do it by hand, mix all the ingredients and gradually add the water to form a dough.
-Finish kneading by hand and sprinkle some oil over the dough, leave to prove in a warm place for as long as you can.
-In a large wok, heat up some oil and take a hand full of dough and roll out on a surface with a rolling pin. Use some oil to help instead of flour.
-Roll into thin circles and release into the oil. The trick is to make it rise so gently cover the top with oil to raise some height and bubbles.
-Turn over so both sides turn a golden brown. Remove and drain on to parchment paper.
